Nora Barnacle - The Musical
Years before the feature film 'Nora' and Brenda Maddox' dry biography of James Joyce's muse, there was Maureen O'Farrell, A.J Potter and Annette Perry's delightful musical 'Nora Barnacle'. The show premiered at the Dublin Theatre Festival in 1980 and the then Irish Times Theatre Critic David Nowlan earned himself a pint of Guinness over the head for daring to suggest that Nora was not a suitable subject for a play. The critic of The Washington Post, on the other hand, said at the time that, "It was the most outstanding piece of theatre he had seen since the Abbey production of the Cherry Orchard with Siobhan McKenna in 1969." History has proved Nowlan wrong and The Washington Post right.

Now, for the first time, you can hear an excerpt from the original cast recording via the wonders of streaming audio technology.
